Pafta

Terms of Use

End User License Agreement · Effective October 31, 2026

Applies to Pafta on iPhone and on Android.

At a glance

  • A navigation aid, not a safety device. GPS positions, maps, elevation and weather can be wrong or incomplete. Carry a paper map, a compass and backup power, and don't rely on the app alone. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
  • PRO is a subscription or a lifetime purchase. It's bought through the App Store or Google Play. Weekly and annual plans renew automatically until you cancel them. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google.
  • Your data is yours. What you create in the app is stored on your device. We can't see it or recover it, so export or back up what matters to you.
  • Map data comes from third parties. Map, elevation and weather providers have their own terms and may change or stop their services.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use (“terms”) are an agreement between you and Nurcihan Fakioglu (“we”, “us”), the developer of Pafta (“the app”). They are the end user license agreement (EULA) for the app on iPhone and Android. Apple and Google are not parties to these terms.

By downloading, installing or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app. How the app handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.

2. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own personal or professional use, in line with these terms and the usage rules of the store you got the app from. The app is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

The app includes open-source components, which are licensed under their own terms (listed in Settings → Open-source licences). Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licenses.

3. Free features and PRO

4. Safety and limits of the app

Pafta is a navigation aid. It doesn't replace your own judgment, training, a paper map, a compass or official information. You are responsible for planning your trip and for your own safety and the safety of others.

5. Your content

6. Map data and third-party services

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

8. Updates and availability

We may release updates that fix errors, add or change features, or are needed for new operating system versions. Some features may only work with the latest version. We don't guarantee that the app or the online services it uses will always be available or free of errors, and we may stop offering the app at any time. Content already stored on your device stays there, but may not keep working with future operating systems.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app and all data and information in it are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the app will meet your needs or work without interruption or errors. This doesn't affect rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded by agreement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, injury, damage or other loss that results from relying on positions, maps, elevation, weather, alerts or other information in the app, or from being unable to use the app. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the app and for PRO.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that can't be excluded or limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or under mandatory product liability or consumer protection laws.

11. Termination

These terms apply until they're ended by you or us. You can end them at any time by deleting the app. Your license ends automatically if you break these terms; you must then stop using the app and delete it. Sections 4, 5, 6 and 9 to 15 continue to apply after the license ends.

12. Additional terms for the App Store

If you got the app from the Apple App Store, the following also applies:

  1. Acknowledgement. These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  2. Scope of license. Your license is limited to using the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the app may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
  3. Maintenance and support. We are solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the app.
  4. Warranty. We are solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they're not effectively disclaimed. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the app (if any) to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are our sole responsibility.
  5. Product claims. We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the app fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation.
  6. Intellectual property. If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  7. Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  8. Developer name and address. Questions, complaints or claims about the app should be sent to the contact details in section 16.
  9. Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app, such as your mobile data service agreement.
  10. Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept these terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.

13. Additional terms for Google Play

If you got the app from Google Play, the following also applies:

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We'll post the new version on this page and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app where possible. If you keep using the app after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms; if you don't agree, stop using the app and delete it.
